Lucia Bradford Nash (Bradley)

Lucia Bradford Nash (Bradley) Tile(1895-2001)

Born in Massachusetts, the ninth direct descendant of William Bradford, second governor of Plymouth Colony; grew up in a New England Congregational Church; married Charles Bradley in 1923 and though it was very unusual at the time for a wife to work outside the home to put her husband through school, Lucia enjoyed doing it and wasn't very concerned about appearances. Stories of the Bradley's mentoring and support of friends are legend. Upon retirement, the couple continued their interest in the community, actively supporting organizations local and global, while helping to care for five grandchildren. Lucia remained vigorously involved in life through the century mark and died at home at the age of 106. She was an example to all her family and friends across the country of how to enjoy and relish each moment and to appreciate the simplest of pleasures. (Tile dedicated by Carol King, her granddaughter and Alan Brill.)
