Unusually perceptive, empathic, loving and giving, generous to friends, neighbors and animals. Fascinated by railroads since childhood she became a railroad switchman in 1970, where for many years she was harassed by co-workers as a pioneer woman in the all-male world of railroads. She never allowed herself to be driven out of her dream career. She rescued, nursed to health and found homes for the numerous homeless dogs she found wandering by the tracks. During this time, Lynn simultaneously went to school and became a licensed vocational nurse. She used her unparalleled ability for rapport to help many children and ill patients get through the night. When Lynn became terminally ill, she was in the midst of helping a friend through her own terminal illness and never stopped giving all she could to her friend and her friend's family. (Tile dedicated by her friend, Maggie Merker.) |
