Since the inception of the school, the JMSG sports program has grown and changed.  We strive to put forth a program in which girls of all abilities can thrive in a supportive environment and experience healthy competition under the leadership of experienced and enthusiastic coaches.  Girls learn the importance of effort, a positive attitude, and teamwork.  A successful game, win or lose, is one in which the team has worked hard and played well.  Still, as coaches, we know the sweet feeling that comes with a win and we recognize how demoralizing it is to lose every game.  The JMSG sports program has evolved into one where the girls are given the tools they need to win games and the competition with other schools in our league is usually a balanced one.

JMSG Sports Mission Statement
The goal of the athletic program of Julia Morgan School is to inspire and challenge girls of all physical talents and interests to develop confidence, flexibility, strength, endurance, mental discipline, grace, and athletic skill.

The goal for each student is that she:
•feels confident and comfortable in her body
•participates in a wide variety of physical activities from diverse cultures
•becomes enthusiastic about some aspect of fitness, sports, or movement
•develops a life-long commitment to movement, exercise, and healthy nutrition
•strives for excellence either as a member of a team, or in individual physical pursuits
•learns from women and men who are positive role models of physical fitness and health
