Fundraising is essential to increasing the quality of our programs, enriching the lives of each girl who walks through the doors and to maintaining the health and composition of our unique community. Throughout the last eleven years JMSG has received incredible support from countless individuals, foundations, and corporations who believe in the mission. This generosity has been critical to the School’s success and its ability to ensure the highest level of programmatic excellence. While tuition makes up a majority of the School’s budget, roughly 8% comes from fundraising. These initiatives help bridge the gap between tuition revenue and the actual cost of educating each girl. JMSG is a 501(c)3 organization all donations are tax deductible and will be acknowledged in our Annual Report. For your convenience JMSG’s Federal Tax ID number is 94-3285524.
ANNUAL FUND Goal: $180,000 Our number one priority continues to be 100% participation from Parents, Board, Staff and Faculty in the Annual Fund. The Annual Fund is the most important JMSG fundraising campaign. Each year, all parents, board members, faculty, alumnae, friends, and many of our grandparents receive a letter asking for a tax-deductible contribution to the School. In addition to providing essential revenue for the operating budget, a broadly supported Annual Fund also demonstrates to corporations and foundations, from whom we seek funding, that JMSG is an organization worthy of support and is a way to express gratitude for the unique educational community we are a part of. Because 100% participation is so important, we expect every family to participate. Every gift, large or small, makes a huge difference! Click here to donate. RAFFLEGoal: $25,000 Each year JMSG holds a raffle in conjunction with the Annual Art Show. The School looks to offer between three and five big prizes ranging from a 100-bottle wine cellar to weekend getaways, electronics and cash. Tickets are distributed to each family in early March with the drawings being held in May. The Raffle offers an opportunity for the JMSG community to reach out beyond our immediate circle and gain support for the School. It’s a wonderful way for the girls to get involved! THE ATHENA FUND Julia Morgan School for Girls recently created an endowed fund restricted to tuition assistance called The Athena Fund. Currently, 30% of the students who attend JMSG receive tuition assistance. In order for the School to continue providing this level of support and ensure that girls (regardless of economic means) have the opportunity to pursue their dreams through a Julia Morgan School education, the School will continue its efforts to raise the seed money for an endowment. Click here to donate. eSCRIP eScrip is a way to have the merchants you patronize contribute to JMSG. There is no cost to you for participating! MURAL OF WOMENThe Mural of Women celebrates the many women, renown and unknown, who inspire our students to pursue their dreams. A contribution of $500 to the Julia Morgan School for Girls will enable you to honor a woman who has been inspirational in your life. Julia Morgan School students will create an original ceramic tile designed specifically to celebrate your honoree. These tiles will be installed at the School as part of our Mural of Women. Also, a one-page biography of your honoree will be included in our Book of Women, a compilation of women’s biographies kept on display at the School. GIFTS IN KIND A donation of needed goods or services qualifies as a gift-in-kind. Examples are printing services, landscaping, and some equipment.
