Accepting applications - Deadline: Tuesday, January 10, 2012 INFORMATION NIGHTSSeveral information events are scheduled to allow potential applicants to visit the school in the fall. The information nights are held in the Ming Quong Room at the School. Please bring your daughter, the candidate for admission, to this evening event hosted by Julia Morgan teachers, students, and parents. Evening Admission Information Sessions: (Bring your daughter!) Thurs. Oct. 20, 2011, 6:30 - 8 p.m. Wed. Nov. 9, 2011, 6:30 - 8 p.m. Thurs. Dec. 8, 2011, 6:30 - 8 p.m. - OR - Morning Admission Information Sessions: (Parent/Guardian Only) Wed. Nov. 2, 2011, 8:30 - 10 a.m. Wed. Nov. 30, 2011, 8:30 - 10 a.m. Families with a current 4th or 5th grade student, please RSVP here for an information meeting. ADMISSION PACKET Applications for admission in the fall of 2012 will be available in October 2011. If you are interested in receiving an Admission Packet containing all instructions and forms necessary to apply for admission to Julia Morgan School, please click on the "Click here for more information" button to the left. APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION The Parent/Guardian Questionnaire and Candidate Questionnaire should be completed and returned to the Admission Office as soon as possible. The parent and candidate questionnaires and the application fee are required before a student can visit classes or participate in the assessment. While it is best to submit your application as soon as possible, Julia Morgan School for Girls will continue to accept applications and admission materials until 3 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2012. The Admission Committee will begin reviewing completed applications in early January. ADMISSION DECISIONS Decisions regarding acceptance will be mailed Thursday, March 8, 2012. Your response to reserve a space for your accepted daughter is expected no later than Friday, March 16, 2012 by 10:00 a.m. APPLICATION FEE A fee of $90.00 (check payable to Julia Morgan School for Girls) is due when the application is submitted. It is non-refundable and does not, in the case of acceptance, apply toward tuition.
TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS JMSG uses the standard Confidential Teacher Recommendation Form ** used by all East Bay Independent Schools. Two academic teacher recommendations are required. Teachers completing forms must have taught the student within the last two years.
SCHOOL REPORT FORM Please sign the School Report Form ** and deliver to the school your child currently attends. A school administrator must complete the recommendation checklist on the reverse side of the form. Please have your child's school return this form to JMSG.

PARENT INTERVIEWThe Head of School or Assistant Head of School will meet with each applicant’s parents in a 40 minute meeting to answer parents’ questions and to assess whether our school would be a good “fit” for the family, child, and school. Please call to schedule this interview once your application has been submitted. Interviews begin in November and must be completed before February. STUDENT VISIT/INTERVIEW As part of the admission process, girls should plan to visit classes in December 2011 and January 2012 on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday (8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.). The parent and candidate questionnaires** must be submitted to schedule a classroom visit and interview. Please call to schedule your daughter's visit once your application has been submitted.
ASSESSMENT All applicants are required to participate in a JMSG assessment that includes a writing sample, group work, and mathematics.
