The curriculum of the advisory program teaches girls essential life skills needed to become responsible, self-sufficient young women. Materials were developed in part by The Kent Place School for Girls in New Jersey. Issues covered include leadership, communication, conflict resolution, study and research skills, health, nutrition and drugs, human sexuality, ethical issues, and personal finances. Each student works with her peers in a small discussion group facilitated by a teacher who also acts as the girl’s advisor. The advisor is a central part of the Julia Morgan experience. The advisor oversees and coordinates all aspects of an advisee’s experience at the School for an academic year, including regular communication with parents.
